The MCGM administration has approved an additional Rs 60 crores for the repair of roads in the city. However, this time the corporation plans to hold the bills of the errant contractors and pay them only after satisfactory work is received from them. Every year crores of rupees go into the pockets of contractors especially when contracts of road repair are given. However, this time the contractors are likely feel the pinch as the MCGM Standing Committee has decided to not pay up the contractors who have done a shoddy job. The members have demanded an audit report on the work done and said that only after satisfactory work should the contractor be paid up. MCGM Standing Committee Chairman Rahul Shewale said that the amount spent on paying the contractors should be revealed to the members. With cameraperson Raju Sharma, Hansraj Kanojia for NMTV News.
