Another announcement that the civic body made during the meeting was that MCGM would be purchasing 100 trees from other states for its beautification programs. These trees won’t need that much care as is needed in the case of saplings. These trees would be purchased for a total cost of Rs. 1.5 Crores. In the weekly press conference, MCGM’s Acting Commissioner R A Rajeev informed that one of the significant steps being taken by them for beautification of the city, ready trees would be bought from a nursery in Gujrat. When saplings are planted and not taken care of later, the mortality rate is high. It’s this problem that ready-trees would tackle from the root. R A Rajeev informed that if this experimental step is a success then they would increase the number of trees in the next session. With cameraperson Vinayak Dalvi, Hansraj Kanaujia for NMTV news.
