mcgmThe MCGM administration will take the help of the National Disaster Relief Force to tackle if nature’s wrath will strike Mumbai again during monsoons this year. Its nothing new that every monsoon tells exposes several failures of MCGM and most of the corporation’s assurances fall flat. And for this, even the Mumbai High Court has reprimanded the MCGM administration time and again. To ensure that this time round they do not fall from expectations considering the days of high tides pose major challenges, the MCGM has decided to take the help of the NDRF that is the National Disaster Relief Force. Addressing his weekly press conference, MCGM Commissioner Dr. Jairaj Pathak informed that this time four teams of the navy will be stationed along with adequate manpower at Colaba, Worli, Malad and Ghatkopar. In addition to this army personnel will also be stationed at Colaba. Commissioner Dr. Jairaj Pathak informed that 5 teams of NDRF with 780 trained jawans will be stationed at Talegaon and if any disaster does strike or a need arises, they will immediately come to the rescue of Mumbaikars.
