MCGM WANTS DIGGING OF ROADS TO END BY MAY 31

digging-road-2In view of the impending monsoon, MCGM wants to make sure that all civic works of digging roads end by May 31. However “Will the MCGM be successful in achieving this will unfold only when it pours?” Motorists and pedestrians fed up of constant digging of roads because of the major ongoing infrastructure projects can heave a sigh of relief. In view of the impending monsoon, the MCGM has asked MMRDA and MSRDC to bring all excavation, digging and trenching work to a halt by May 31. They have told the agencies to bring their work on projects like Metro, Monorail and skywalks to a safe stage. Mumbai Mayor Shraddha Jadav took a meeting with the MMRDA officials over this issue. She added that there was a need to implement rainwater harvesting in the city. Even if their work continues, they have to ensure that there is no flooding, and their work cause no problems during the monsoon, the Mayor Shraddha Jadhav has informed. The decision was taken at a meeting held between officials to review road work. Bureau report – NMTV News.
