The MCGM will regularize all nursing homes and clinics that are located in residential areas and share a common entrance with other residents of housing societies. According to MCGM figures, some 1,200-odd nursing homes and clinics share a common entrance in housing societies. However, a Supreme Court order had directed the clinics to get separate entrances. Following the court order, the MCGM had said it would come up with a decision on the action to be taken after conducting a study. The inspection work was carried out by officials of the development plan department. After a detailed inspection of various premises, the civic body has decided that it was difficult to have a separate entrance for patients and their family members. Closing or shutting them is also not an alternative. Hence, they thought that regularizing the clinics would be best. Bureau report NMTV News.
