After the disaster, the battle post it is not any easier for victims of Bihar deluge. Those who have survived the disastrous floods in the worst districts are heading to other states in search of livelihood. Mumbai being one of the highly preferred destinations, several deluge victims are coming to the city. In order to ensure that none of the immigrants are suffering from the post flood frequent diseases, MCGM has set up medical check up stations at many railway stations. After losing everything in the Bihar deluge, now these people are coming to Mumbai in search of jobs. Since many of the immigrants are coming from the flood hit areas, they can be carrying several diseases. In order to ensure that this does not affect citizens in the city, MCGM has opened up Health Check up Centres in the important stations. According to the MCGM Medical Officer, more than 40 cases of Malaria and Diarrhoea have been registered in the Kurla station alone.
