MILAN SUBWAY FLYOVER IS ALL SET TO TAKE OFF BUT REHABILITATION CONTROVERSY YET TO SETTLE

milan-2While MMRDA has claimed to have resolved the issue of project affected people (PAPs) of the Milan subway flyover, the nearby shop owners have stated that they have not even received any notice for MMRDA. MMRDA has stated that all the residential and commercial tenements, which were coming in the way of the proposed Milan subway flyover, will be rehabilitated in the same area. And while the construction work of the flyover has begun, shop owners informed NMTV News that they have not received any notice as of yet from MMRDA for the replacement. It maybe recalled that the project was stuck after it began in January this year as the local residents did not want to stay in MMRDA rehabilitation colonies elsewhere in the city. An official at MMRDA has stated that they were planning to construct a slum rehabilitation colony near the flyover. Partially affected PAPs will also be accommodated in the colony. Permanent accommodation for all PAPs will be made available near the Milan subway. Also, since the process of rehabilitation has taken a long time, the flyover may not be completed by the proposed deadline, that is May 2009.
