MLA Sandeep Naik visited NMMT depot at Turbhe to find a solution to the ongoing strike of the contract workers. After a long discussion with the NMMT management, MLA Sandeep Naik came out to talk to the NMMT contract workers. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the behavior of the contract workers to go on a strike which was inconveniencing the commuters suffer. Stressing that there could have been a better way for the contract workers to put forth their demands, he suggested that the workers should have filed an application instead of going on a strike. Speaking for the contract workers, MLA Sandeep Naik said that it was high time that a new system was set in place for the betterment of the workers and a proper study done in this regard. We also spoke with NMMT General Manager Jitendra Papalkar who said that all contract workers will be asked to fill forms and a study will be done on the basis of their attendance and performance. Calling the strike of the contract labors as incorrect, he said that the management was working on their provident fund demand.
