raj1MNS Chief Raj Thackeray raised the Marathi plank once again with the release of his party’s election manifesto. Speaking to the media, unveiled a nine-point agenda for his party. However, a closer look shows that there is no concrete action plan as the manifesto evades many topics concerning the Maharashtra state. The election manifesto, called Honestly Speaking, echoes the MNS’s pro-Marathi campaign and lists out “precautions” the party will take to further its Marathi manoos campaign. Criticizing the MPs from Maharashtra for not supporting the anti-migrant stance of the MNS last year, Thackeray said that his candidates, if elected, would spearhead the cause of the Marathi manoos at the Centre. On the issue of employment, the MNS promises to take “precaution” to ensure priority in jobs for locals. Besides these two issues, no other issue in the manifesto was of the Parliament standard. However, justifying his stand Raj Thackeray stated that he has mentioned only those issues that can be fulfilled by him. With cameraperson Ravi Nikam, Rajeev Mishra for NMTV News.
