Shiwdi constituency’s MNS MLA Bala Nandgaonkar has been elected as the MNS legislative party leader while Vasant Gite would be the Deputy leader. Winning 13 state assembly seats, the Maharastra Navnirman Sena has come a strong political force in the political fray of Maharashtra. The party recently announced its Legislative leader as MLA Bala Nandgaonkar while his deputy would be Nasik’s MLA Vasant Gite. Taking his ‘Marathi manoos’ agenda a step further, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray also asked the legislators in the new Assembly to take oath “only in Marathi” or face his party’s wrath. Raj’s statement follows his recent warning to Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Asim Azmi who had demanded the House agenda in Hindi. “Hindi is our national language and it should come after Marathi,” Azmi, elected from Mankhurd and Bhiwandi seats, had said in his letter to Assembly secretary. Furious over Azmi’s demand, Raj Thackeray, known for his anti-North Indian campaign, said “if Azmi wants the House agenda in Hindi, then he should go to Uttar Pradesh.” With cameraperson Raju Sharma, Shiraj Mishra for NMTV News.
