A meeting of MNS election committee was held at Vashi under the leadership of MNS State Secretary Nandu Satam. The meeting was conducted in order to have a communication among the party workers and see, what are the possibilities of the party to contest the forthcoming NMMC elections. Keeping in mind the upcoming NMMC elections, an election committee has been formed by MNS chief Raj Thackeray. Thus a meeting of this committee was held at Vashi to test the potential of the party and works done by the party workers in Navi Mumbai. The meeting was held under the leadership of MNS Maharashtra secretary Nandu Satam. Along with him were present MNS leaders like Vaishali Darekar, Rajan Raje and others. The election committee has been formed by MNS chief Raj Thackeray in order to get an unbiased report from the committee members about the opinions of the party officials after which the party can come out with an appropriate decision. Post the meeting, Nandu Satam was optimistic that the MNS chief might give a positive nod for contesting elections. Accepting that the party would not have time to get into gear and prepare for the upcoming elections, he said that if it is decided that elections will be contested it would be a challenge in front them to complete the election procedure as there is little time left. It is a known fact the MNS played a crucial role in the parliamentary and assembly polls and its votes worked against the Sena, Satam denied the allegations and said that even when MNS was not in existence, Shiv Sena lost the elections. The MNS meetings were conducted in Vashi, Sanpada, Turbhe, Nerul and CBD after which Ghansoli, Koperkhairane, Airoli and Rabale will be covered. After conducting these meetings a report will be presented to MNS chief Raj Thackeray after which a decision will be given by him which is expected by 6th March. Even though the meeting was called to see how much possibility was there in Navi Mumbai to contest for the elections, the party officials were seen giving speeches about their own works they had done individually to show their potential, thinking that they might get a ticket to contest the elections. However, if MNS Chief Raj Thackeray does plan to filed candidates from wards where Rajan Raje and Pappu Mahale earned good votes in Navi Mumbai during parliamentary and assembly polls, then it would be a challenge for the Shiv Sena candidates in these wards. As MNS candidates would eat directly into their votes, it would prove to be advantage Congress and NCP candidates in these wards. With cameraperson Vivek Gaikwad, Vrushali Chitre for NMTV News.
