The war of words between the Shiv Sena and the MNS has intensified with the Sena calling the MNS a party of extortionists and rapists. Temperatures are soaring with heat. The controversy started when MNS chief Raj Thackeray recently ridiculed the Sena-sponsored blood donation camp in which over 25,000 bottles were collected. The feat earned Sena Chief Executive Uddhav Thackeray an entry in the Guinness Book of Records. Speaking at a public function in Navi Mumbai, Raj dubbed this as a political stunt and accused the Sena of sucking the blood of the people. He said the Sena, which holds power in the MCGM, should be more concerned about the water shortage. In a sharp rejoinder, Sena leader Ramdas Kadam that those who extort money from people cannot be expected to appreciate the mega blood donation camp. He alleged that ever since the MNS was formed, it had only indulged in extortion and rapes. In a statement, Ramdas Kadam noted while the Sena had organized a blood donation camp, the MNS organized a food festival. Without referring to anyone in particular, it said MNS leaders consumed alcohol at night. MNS spokesperson has reacted to this and said that Rmdas Kadam has no moral grounds to say this when his party the Shiv Sena had completely mismanaged the MCGM; because of which the city faced a severe water crisis.
