msedc-1MSEDC is soon gong to shift its cable wires seen hanging from electricity poles especially at Gaothon areas, underground. MSEDC would carry out the work at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crores. In a wise decision, the electricity cable wires hanging from electric poles in Navi Mumbai would now be taken underground, if NMMC and MSEDC are to be believed. While the MSEDC has approved the proposal, the same is still pending at NMMC. There are around 29 villages in Navi Mumbai where overhead cable wires are seen. The residents of Koperkhairane, Ghansoli, Rabale and Turbhe have time and again voiced fear against these overhead wires but till date no action has been taken. With the development of the city, electric cable wires were still not disappearing from the city skyline and MSEDC’s decision will finally bring relief to the residents.
