The MSEDC engineers stationed at MSEDC office in Nerul were attacked by the locals of Sarsole village when the latter received no response for their problems. On the issue of a lamp post at Salsale village in Nerul releasing electric current, MSEDC junior engineer along with four other people at the MSEDC office in Nerul were beaten up by the locals of the village. The agitated locals attacked the engineers when they received no response to their complaint. However, the junior engineer Nitin Ragatwan denied that a complaint was filed by the locals. He stated that the villagers only verbally spoke with them and wanted a resolution immediately. When he informed the locals that it would take little time, the agitated locals started beating him and forced him to sit in an auto rickshaw and took him to Salsale village. According to the MSEDC engineers, the reason for the lamp post passing electric current was a crow nest at the post. While the engineers needed half hour to solve the problem, the locals refused to wait for that long. A complaint has been registered at the Nerul police station. we also spoke with executive engineer of MSEDC, Vashi Satish Karpe who arrived on the spot. Speaking for his engineers he stated that if action was not taken against the locals then they would start a power cut revolt in Navi Mumbai.
