Once again poor management by PMC contractors was reported in Panvel where more than 100 MTNL lines were disconnected during a digging work. PMC is carrying out the laying of water pipeline work at Thana naka road. The contractor used JCBs for digging out the road. However, the work was so mismanaged that MTNL lines were pulled out, disconnecting more than 100 MTNL connections in the vicinity. MTNL’s Assistant Engineer J G Kadam that this was not the first time that they were hassled with Panvel Municipal Council’s work. He further informed that despite continuous meetings with PMC officials on this issue, the problem was not being looked into by the council. This is not the first time that reports of MTNL wires being disconnected has been reported from Panvel.
