MUMBAI BELONGS TO MARATHIS FIRST AND THEN OTHERS – SAYS SENA EXECUTIVE PRESIDENT UDDHAV THACKERAY

ME-marthi-4Addressing Sainiks in a meet to mark Marathi Day, Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray said that Mumbai is first for Marathis and then for others. Marathi Day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of the great poet Kusumagraj Vishnu Vaman Shirwarkar. A grand event was held at Dadar to mark the day clubbed with “Me Marathi”. Shiv Sena’s executive President Uddhav Thackarey joined the celebrations along with Maharashtra Times Editor Bharat Kumar Raut and many prominent Sena leaders. The highlight of the addressal made by Uddhav Thackarey was his emphasis on how Mumbai is first for Marathis and then for others. He credited the Sena efforts for letting the tradition and culture of Maharshtrians. Blaming the ruling state government he questioned as to why only the Matoshri, the residence of Balasaheb Thackarey was targeted by terrorists and not Varsha, residence of the state Chief Minister. Mentioning the ruler Aurangzeb in his speech, he went on stating that like in history even today, there were some anti-interest elements today that Marathi community should be aware of.
