While MMRDA’s ambitious Metro Rail project will bring some relief to Mumbaikars, it is likely to become a cause of concern for the residents of Charkop, Andheri, where one of the nullahs has been taken, causing flooding during monsoons. This area of Charkop Andheri is where MMRDA’s Metro Rail project is being constructed. However, this construction work has become a cause of concern for the locals as this same area is a nullah which is being covered for the construction. The residents have complaint about their concern to Mumbai Mayor Dr. Shubha Raul. However, MMRDA Assistant Vice President Ravindra Bhatt says that they follow orders from MMRDA and not from MCGM. On the other hand, Mayor Dr. Shubha Raul stated that the concerns of the residents were rather grim as the covering of the nullah can cause flooding during monsoons. She stated that she would take up the matter with the Chief Minister. With cameraperson Raju Sharma, Hansraj Kanaujia for NMTV News.
