The Mumbai Police now has a hi-tech van to combat terror attacks through the coast. A demonstration of the vehicles was made in front of the Mumbai Police Commissioner D Sivanandan. These unique vehicles can be used in water and on roads and have been imported for the first time by any security force in the country. The Mumbai Police is finally getting its dues as the state is providing the police force with latest weapons and requisites. Specifically realizing the necessity of manning the vast and vulnerable coastal line of Mumbai city, the Mumbai Police has added a much needed hi-tech van in its list to combat terror attacks. These hi-tech vehicles have been imported for the first time in the country. The vans were put for demonstrations at Girgaum Chowpatthy for the Mumbai Police Commissioner D Sivanandan. Some features of the vans include Global Positioning System and equipments to measure the depth of the sea. These vehicles can travel at the speed of 30 nautical miles in water. The unique feature of the vehicles is that they can be used on roads as well. Another vehicle can be used in sand and sludgy areas as well besides being used in water as well. This unique and qualitative addition of hi-tech vehicles in the Mumbai Police Force seems to have definitely boosted the spirits of the men in uniform.
