Fostin Martis and his daughter Florence, residents of Thane were one of the many who became hostages to the barbaric terrorist at Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai. While Florence returned back home safely, she lost her father in the attack. 26th November 2008 would always be etched in the mind of Floyd Martis not just because it was the day that terror struck but also because it was the day of the anniversary of his parents. Floyd’s father Fostin Martis and his sister Florence used to work at Taj Mahal Hotel. That night Floyd and his mother were waiting home to celebrate the day when news channel telecasted the attack on Mumbai and on Taj. Immediate calls were made to both the father and sister and till then they were safe. Anxiety, nervousness and hours of being holed up in one place started taking its toll. Florence felt hungry and his father went to get something to eat for her when he became the target of the terrorist’s gun. While the father died, Florence was rescued by the commandos in their cleaning operation. With cameraperson Dyaneshwar Mali, Monica Bhosale for NMTV News.
