CIDCO administration has come under a lot of heat due to its intensive demolition drive on illegal houses ad slums in the city. One individual that has been facing a lot of flak is CIDCO Director and Navi Mumbai Congress Chief Namdeo Bhagat. Refuting all allegations, Namdeo Bhagat held a press conference. CIDCO Encroachment department had recently razed down many illegal dwellings at Gothivali, Talvali, Rabale, Vashi village and other areas but this action is being smeared with politics by some Congress corporators and blaming CIDCO Director and Navi Mumbai Congress Chief Namdeo Bhagat. Clarifying his stance in a press conference, Namdeo Bhagat stated that he had no involvement in CIDCO’s demolition drive because of three reasons. He informed that the proposal of rebuilding the houses of the PAPs has been sent to the Chief Minister and they would try to get it approved as soon as possible. Informing about the other works being done by them, he informed that very soon an Agri-Koli Bhavan would be constructed for the locals of the area and that a 2000 meter plot has been allotted for the building of temples. Other projects being carried out by CIDCO is the flyover from Karawe to Seawoods and the Vashi Exhibition Centre. When he was quested that his party corporators had burnt down his posters while protesting against CIDCO’s demolition drive, this is what he had to say. Speaking to NMTV News, an ired Namdeo Bhagat stated that the names of the individuals who had protested against him were sent to State Congress President Manikrao Thakre. He further refuted all allegations of not working effectively as a CIDCO Director.
