Revenue minister Narayan Rane, who has given up his futile chase for the chief minister’s chair temporarily, is determined to extract at least one ministerial berth for his loyalists when chief minister Ashok Chavan goes for the next cabinet expansion. Maintaining a low profile for sometime now, Revenue Minister Narayan Rane has become pro-active after the process of political recruitment to the corporations and the cabinet expansion started rolling. Rane is in no position to crib about being neglected in the party, so he is looking for control by other means. The revenue minister wants to ensure that the next Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee Chief is not hand-picked by Chavan. Sources said he has already started suggesting the name of forest minister Patangrao Kadam for the MPCC chief’s job. Kadam is not very pleased with his current portfolio. Chief Minister Ashok Chavan is also not happy with his conduct in the cabinet either. Bureau report – NMTV News.
