Students of RAIT, SIES College and Terna College took out a peaceful rally protesting against the reservation quota bill tabled by the government. The message given out was loud and clear that reservation will hit the quality of excellence in education and will kill meritocracy eventually. Students are leaving no stones unturned to make their voices and demands be heard by the government. In the course students of colleges in Nerul, which included RAIT, SIES College and Terna College took out a peaceful rally protesting against the unjustifiable way in which the reservation quota is being introduced by the center. A lot of agitation and anxiety was seen amongst the students for the reservation quota bill. According to the students the idea of having reservation on the basis of caste should be removed completely from the education system. Navi Mumbai News spoke with some of the students during the rally who expressed their reasons for the protest. Around 300 students from the various colleges participated in this rally, which culminated at the Nerul Railway Station. With the help of placards and banners students raised slogans of “No to caste based reservation” and “Arjun Singh ko phek do”.
