NAVI MUMBAI COMMISIONERATE SENDS PROPOSAL TO STATE FOR AN INDEPENDENT POLICE STATION FOR INDUSTRIAL AREA

midc2TTC MIDC is a golden industrial area in the city. But today the belt is facing several problems due to inadequate security. Even though Industrial Minister Narayan Rane has announced Industrial Township, insufficient security in the area is worrying the industrialists and therefore, they demanded a separate police station for the area. A proposal of the same has now been sent to the industrial minister by Navi Mumbai police commissionerate. Neglecting the inadequate security problems faced by 400 small scale and large scale industries at MIDC, the Industrial minister Narayan Rane has announced Industrial Township at TTC-MIDC. The industrial belt comes under the jurisdiction of Rabale police station. However, the service has proved to be inadequate observing increase in occurrence of theft as well as security of workers. Even though the offences are controlled with regular patrolling, combating the increasing incidents has become a challenge for the police. Inpsite of demanding extended police protection in the area from the local police and home ministry. When industrial minister Narayan Rane was present in the city for a programme recently, the industrialists expressed their worry over security and demanded for a separate police station in the industrial area. Supporting their demands, police too stated that there is a need for separate police station in the area. Later on a proposal of the same was sent to the state the police commissionerate. Pol stated that if a police station is to be established at MIDC, it should be ready to provide all basic facilities for which a proposal has been sent to MIDC. If a police station is established at MIDC, 4 lakh workers would get enhanced security. When would the proposal get an approval by the industrial minister is a wait and watch.
