There is excitement and the energy levels are high as the clearance from the Union Environment Ministry to the Navi Mumbai International Airport timing coincides with the Builder’s Association of Navi Mumbai’s 11th property exhibition. NMTV Dy. Editor Sana Warsia travels to the airport site to catch the future airport of Navi Mumbai in its raw form today and ends the trip at the BANM’s property exhibition only to find out how the Navi Mumbai Intl. Airport has become the catalyst for sales at Navi Mumbai’s annual property fair. On weekend exclusive this time we decided to take a trip to the place that is making national headlines for quite some time now. No points for guessing that we are speaking about the Navi Mumbai Intl Airport that is all set to come up at Panvel. The Navi Mumbai airport is going to come up at the scenically beautiful far end of Panvel that is defined by mangroves, hills, chirping migratory birds and ecology in its natural beauty. You have heard a lot of Gadhi and Ulwe River and the two 90 meters hills that are going to be flattened for the making of the airport. We decided to stop over at these spots to get a close view and capture them because before you know most of it will be lost for a new airport. Our first stop was the Gadhi River that Union Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh managed to save from being diverted of filled. Many environmentalists weren’t happy that tow hills would be blasted for making the airport. However as Union Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh had since these hills have been massively quarried upon, they have no ecological significance and that’s exactly what we witnessed at the site. After the visit to the airport site, we stopped over the Builder’s Association of Navi Mumbai’s 11th mega property exhibition where there is excitement and energy levels are high more than any exhibition year before because the airport crossed its single biggest hurdle this year. In fact, the new of the airport has put the realty market at such a high that people from across Navi Mumbai, Mumbai and Thane are dropping at the exhibition to check out the property. Builders and developers are all smiles as the Navi Mumbai airport has become the catalyst for sales at BANM’s 11th property exhibition. According to participating developers and financial institutes, because the exhibition has property for sale ranging from Rs. 12 lacs to Rs. 12 Crores – buyers of all groups are making a beeline for exhibition and BANM is confident of registering the highest sales this year in comparison to exhibitions held in the past. There’s no denying that the airport has given Navi Mumbai a huge economic boost.Bureau report – NMTV News.
