Navi Mumbai (January 28, 2015) : Garbage strewn all over, stink in the air, rickshaws refuse to enter the area, pathetic conditions of roads, playground turned into dumping ground, not one basic humanitarian amenity in place: welcome to the ward of Navi Mumbai’s first citizen : Mayor Sagar Naik. The conditions of Mayor Sagar Naik’s ward are most shocking to say the least. That’s because it’s not only the Mayor’s ward but even his home. Right across the road in this area, is the home of former Minister Ganesh Naik, former MP Sanjeev Naik, Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik and Mayor Sagar Naik. Despite paying Crores to have bought homes, citizens of the area are living life in literally inhuman conditions for the last 4 years. Evidently, they say their lives are worst than living in slums.

Some even recalled the promises of former Minister Ganesh Naik to make Navi Mumbai a Shanghai and Singapore. Residents shared woes of how they suffer despite living in supposedly the “king’s” area. Desperations levels are so high that citizens say they will rename their area Naik Nagar or Ganesh Nagar in return of amenities. For ignoring the plight of citizens in his ward, citizens have decided not to vote for Sagar Naik again.

It is difficult to understand that despite having absolute majority, Mayor Sagar Naik neglected his ward and has turned into an absolute shame for Navi Mumbai. Bureau report – NMTV News.
