NAVI MUMBAI POLICE FOIL ROBBERY ATTEMPT AT AIROLI – ARREST GANG HEADED BY WOMAN

In a quite unheard case of foiling an attempt to robbery, the Navi Mumbai Police arrested a gang of robbers headed by a woman from Airoli. The police claims that the gang was planning to loot customers walking out with cash from the Parsik Janata Sahakari Bank at Airoli. It is not quite believable that this woman could head a group of robbers but 32 years old Shamshad Hanif Patel was caught red handed by the police when she arrived at the Parsik Janata Sahakari Bank at Sector 1, Airoli with the intention of robbing customers walking out with cash. The police claimed the same in a press conference. Shamshad was arrested with three other accomplices – Sikandar Shaikh, Anil Biradar and Ibrahim Kaskar. Sikandar and Anil have been booked in criminal cases in Mumbai, DCP Amar Jadhav informed. Shamshad is a resident of Mumbra and divorcee who prior to making a gang of robbers ran a club that shut down after huge losses. The police have seized two choppers, 1 Yamaha bike, 1 rickshaw, mobile and red chilli powder from the gang. The arrested persons are in police custody. The police was taken aback to arrest a woman heading the gang and says that further investigations could reveal the gang’s involvement in other cases of thefts and robberies.
