Wrist watches worth a couple of lakh were available for just around Rs 3,000. While the goods were priced at around a few lakhs, the worth of real goods runs into a massive Rs 1.5 crore. The plush stores having middle-class and rich clientele were selling the goods at a much less price than the original goods. All the goods were being sold openly and were being passed off as originals. The raid was conducted after taking permission from Ramrao Wagh, the Navi Mumbai police commissioner and the owners of the shops were charged under Section 51, 63 of the Copyright Act 1957.
