Its good news for all nature lovers as very soon CIDCO’s promise of providing Navi Mumbaikars with a Delhi Haat would come true. The urban Haat that is coming up right adjacent to the CBD railway station is almost completed and likely to be inaugurated in November. The Urban Haat is spread over 5 hectares of hilly land over dense woods. The project is located in an undulating terrain with a hill in the centre. The land slopes towards the encircling roads that provide a panoramic view. The entire area is awash with several butterflies. The unique feature of this project is that it is constructed in three layers around the trees in the area. The Urban Haat once completed would be handed over to the Centre for the allotment of shops. It is being said that this place would house a varieties of cuisines from across the country where people can try out their taste buds, it would also house an exhibition gallery which will pull art lovers and all in all a place to relax and enjoy. Another highlight of the Haat is that it also has an amphitheatre in which cultural groups from local colleges would be invited to perform. There would be a nominal charge of Rs 10 for adults and Rs 5 for children. Urban haat is a CIDCO project that could not have been possible without the dynamic vision of CIDCO Jt MD Deepak Kapoor and his team of officers.
