To increase the levels of traffic discipline and reduce misuse of tinted glasses, the Navi Mumbai RTO and Traffic Police have started a drive to book vehicles with tinted glasses. RTO Purshottam Nikam gave more inputs to Vinay Pandey. Vehicles with tinted glasses have come under the scanner of the Navi Mumbai Traffic Police and the RTO that think it is time that a drive against them is started. With the growing criminals’ activities and accidents, they think it is time to book the motorists who have tinted glasses that disallows view of what is happening inside the vehicles. According to the Maharashtra Motor Vehicle Act 1998, motorists are not permitted to have glasses that disallow view more than 75% and 50% on the side ones. But there are hundreds of vehicles violating this norm. While the drive is much needed, will politicians and so called influential motorists come under the RTO or Navi Mumbai Police catch is a definite wait and watch.
