Alleging the killing of their pet dog by a police constable at Kharghar, the family stated that the police department is showing lax attitude towards catching the accused. The incident of a pet dog being killed near Gharkul society at Kharghar is intensifying by the day. It may be recalled that on February 22, a pet dos of Kiran Gaekwad was killed in Kharghar by an unidentified person. Despite complaint of the same to the police department the very next day, the department has failed to crack the case. Kiran Gaekwad had approached the Navi Mumbai Commissioner of Police Ramrao Wagh to complain on the lax attitude of the department in catching the accused. The family has alleged that the killing was done at the hands of a police constable – Dattatrey Chougule and despite registering a compliant at the Kharghar police station, they have failed to take any action on the constable. Speaking to NMTV News, commissioner of Police Ramrao Wagh gave the assurance that after proper investigation, the culprit would be put behind bars. The Gaekwad family is not just distressed on the fact that the police department has failed on its part but is also shocked at the department’s failure of atleast interrogating the accused in the case.
