NCP AIROLI CORPORATOR GANESH THAKUR ARRESTED AND SENT TO TWO DAYS POLICE REMAND FOR ASSAULT OF SENA PARTY WORKER

ncp-sena-fightNCP and Shiv Sena party workers have clashed again and at Airoli again. NCP Corporator Ganesh Thakur was arrested after the incident. Terror strikes Airoli again as political clash left the node tense. NCP Corporator from Airoli Ganesh Thakur has been accused of not just physically assaulting Shiv Sena Ward President Rajendra Bapu Dhande with weapons but wrecked his house as well with JCB. Locals say that not only did the incident spoil the festival fervor but is an indication that there could be more political violence in store. After the attack, Rajendra Bapu Dhande and his wife were rushed to the Shivaji hospital at Thane. While his wife is undergoing treatment at the same hospital, looking at the condition of Rajendra Bapu, the doctors recommended that he be taken to another hospital for better treatment. A family member of Dhande spoke to the media about the incident in a press meet. BYTE LADY The family members had filed a complaint against Ganesh Thakur after which the police arrested him under IPC Section 324. Ganesh Thakur was given police remand for two days. And post the incident, senior party leaders went defensive for their party workers. NMMC Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik said that the issue was an outcome of an encroachment. On the other hand, Shiv Sena Chief Vijay Chougule was of the opinion that these attacks were done to sabotage their increasing power so that they too respond in the same violent way. He added that the patience level of the party was at the edge and if the Sainiks get violent, only the police administration will be responsible. For the last several months, the graph of political violence in Airoli is going upward. Three NCP corporators of Airoli have been arrested during these political clashes, which is in complete contrast of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik’s vision for Navi Mumbai. The Minister has reason to worry as in most cases of violence, NCP corporators are arrested thereby maligning the image of the NCP party. It may be noted that post delimitation, Ganesh Naik has made a public announcement that he will be contesting from the Airoli constituency. But the goondaism that NCP party workers are indulging in will post more challenges for Ganesh Naik – the gravest being to convince voters of peace in Airoli.
