lokasaba1The NCP has started power training prior to the impending Lok Sabha elections. The party’s Supremo Sharad Pawar called for a meeting at the NCP Bhavan to discuss the status of the party influence in different regions in Maharashtra. The time to measure capacities, influence on voters and potentialities has begun for political parties. The same was seen at the NCP meet held at the NCP Bhavan in Mumbai where the party’s Supremo Sharad Pawar met all his district heads to discuss the party’s position in different regions in the state. While Sharad Pawar refrained to meet the media post the media, NCP leader and Dy. Chief Minister Chagan Bhujbal informed the media that the meet was called to search and analyze the power status of the party in the state that will be used as a parameter to finalize the seat sharing numbers with the Congress. Chagan Bhujbal however said that the final decision of where Sharad Pawar will contest the Lok Sabha elections will be taken by Pawar alone. He also informed that the RPI wants to stay with the NPA but only on a certain condition. On the other hand, RPI Chief Ramdas Athavle said that he has asked Sharad Pawar for 5 seats in Maharashtra and voiced confidence of getting atleast 2. Political experts say that the NCP is aware that the Congress is loosing ground in Maharashtra and this is the reason why they are demanding an equal or more share of seats to contest the Lok Sabha elections. While it will take time before the picture becomes clear, but one thing is for sure – if Sharad Pawar wants to fulfill his forever dream of becoming the Prime Minister of Maharashtra he needed atleast 15 NCP MPs from Maharashtra as the first step. Which is easier said than done. With cameraperson Ravi Nikam, Rajeev Mishra for NMTV News.
