They say a good and strong election agenda is equal to half an election won. Perhaps that’s why many want to know what makes the NCP tick all the time in Navi Mumbai. The answer has always been simple – it’s the progress mantra of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik that has won him the support of Navi Mumbai always. And his progress mantra has beaten the “maha aghadi” formula of the opposition parties in Navi Mumbai in NMMC Elections 2010. This is Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik speaking on the so called “Maha Aghadi” of the opposition parties. The Minister was speaking in an excusive interview with NMTV Editor in Chief Dr. Ravi Subbaiah at the NMTV Studio. NMMC Elections was a contest between NCP versus all the other political parties in Navi Mumbai. There were also talks of how a maha aghadi was at work to ensure that NCP did not come into power in Navi Mumbai even if it means that the other major political parties like BJP-Shiv Sena and Congress have to work hand in glove with each other. Reportedly this maha aghadi was working with an understanding that if a Shiv Sena-BJP candidate was strong in a ward, Congress will work for him and vice versa. While the maha agadhi was silently working in this fashion in all wards, Thane Guardian Ministe Ganesh Naik had voiced confidence that no maha agadhi could beat them. In fact Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik like the Lok Sabha and assembly elections had made on one thing there prime agenda for NMMC elections and that was progress. The Minister had discussed on their progress agenda with us. While NCP led by Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik had won half the battle against the opposition parties with their progress agenda, the remaining battle was won in the polls with 61.4% of the total votes polled, casting their vote in favour of the NCP. Navi Mumbai is a super city and NMMC is here to provide regular water supply, better roads, better transport and every basic civic amenity. And since all political parties indulged in blame game and focused on irrelevant issues, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik’s progress mantra continued to spell victory for NCP in NMMC.
