It an unfortunate turn of events, the Nerul Police station has now issued an arrest warrant of trespassing against Neeta Shamrao Kamble, a resident of sector 1 Nerul and a physically challenged. It maybe recalled that Neeta had alleged harassment by a resident of Uran Mr. Mujavar. She had alleged that Mujavar was trying to take over her residence which is in the name of her husband, by showing fake documents. The story of this woman with disability is a tragic reflection of an apathetic system. Living with her two children and father at Sector 1 Nerul’s NL 4 / 2 / 12, Neeta Shyamrao Kamble had alleged that she had kept the original documents of her apartment with her relative Ramchandra Kamble who works with BEST. She had alleged that Kamble illegally transferred the apartment in his name and sold it to a third person Mr Mujavar who lives in Uran. Mr. Mujavar went to the Nerul police to forcefully evacuate the apartment. She alleged harassment by the police causing her mental and emotional trauma and harassment. Here allegations is with reason as NMTV News earlier had witnessed how officials from the Nerul Police Station waited outside Neeta’s apartment to make her leave the apartment but since the police saw the media and Neeta did not open the door of the apartment the police returned. And now, the Nerul police station has issued an arrest warrant against her of trespassing on someone else’s property. Local corporator Santosh Shetty, while speaking to NMTV News, questioned how a physically challenged can trespass on a property. Santosh Shetty has been supporting Neeta Kamble in her fight for justice. Criticizing the police department, he stated that the police was not just interfering in the matter too much but was also working under pressure. While Santosh Shetty was also being asked by the department to not interfere in the matter, he says that they are public representatives and will not support any injustice being done. Not surprisingly whenever we tried to contact the Nerul Police on the case, they refused to comment on it. Though there are various reservations and benefits given to person with disabilities under the law, the Nerul Police instead of supporting Neeta on humanitarian grounds is allegedly lobbying to make Neeta, her aged father and children come out on the roads.
