SHEETAL POND OF KURLA ‘L’ WARD ALL SET FOR GANESH IMMERSIONS MCGM’s Sheetal pond situated at Kurla west ‘L’ ward is all set for Ganesh immersion. For the first time in Mumbai, German floats, known as magic floats will be will be used during immersion. MCGM has decided to place Fire brigade workers and security heads at the spots of Ganesh immersion. At this time, Additional officer Madhav Sangale, Deputy officer Sudhir Naik were present along with other officials of MCGM. SECURITY AWARD TO THE SAFEST GANESH MANDAL The Fire and Safety association of India in association with the Mumbai police has announced the safest Ganesh Mandal award 2008 for a Mandal having the most efficient security. The main aim to give away such an award is to encourage the usage of security equipments by these mandals. The mandals will be awarded with golden crown, a cash prize of Rs 75000 and Rs 40000. Law and Order officer KL Prasad too gave his views on the subject. BMC REVIVES MARKET REDVPT PLAN MCGM is once again planning to redevelop its markets in the city. Thirty-six markets will soon get a facelift after the civic body resubmits its four year-old market redevelopment proposal with minor changes. MCGM claims that it was “moving ahead” after receiving several redevelopment proposals for civic markets. CENTRE FACES 677 CASES ON CENTAUR The High Court has given its nod to 677 ex-employees of Centaur Hotel who were forced to take voluntary retirement three years ago, to file criminal cases against Union govt, hotel owners for cheating and breach of trust.
