nitish-rane-4Maharashtra revenue minister Narayan Rane’s son Nitesh Rane, president of Swabhimaan Sanghatana, unveiled a toll free number to curb water theft in Mumbai. Maharashtra revenue minister Narayan Rane’s son Nitesh Rane, president of Swabhimaan Sanghatana, has now decided to take to streets to combat the water theft in the city. A toll free number that is ‘1800-200-9837’ has been launched by the organisation for water theft complaints. He added that an enormous amount is charged by private water tankers to supply water across Mumbai. As opposed to the MCGM rate of water tankers which is between Rs160 and Rs200, the private water tankers are charging a minimum of Rs1200 and at times, a whopping Rs4000. The Swabhimaan Sanghatana has issued a letter to the president of Water Tanker Suppliers Association to reduce their rates, Nitesh said. He has also demanded action against those BJP and Shiv Sena leaders who are alleged involved in illegal supply of water to the MCGM administration.
