NMMC assures of taking precautionary measures against dengue

It’s raining cats and dogs in Navi Mumbai and it’s also raining ailments in the city. Three deaths due to dengue was reported from Navi Mumbai in the last few weeks and now NMMC is on its toes to ensure that all precautionary measures are taken to curb such dangerous diseases.

Out of the three victims of the disease, two had contracted dengue outstation and therefore, city residents need not worry over the scene, the NMMC has urged. Speaking on the cases reported in Navi Mumbai, Rajale informed that they were still not sure if the deaths were caused due to dengue as they were awaiting the laboratory reports. After the deaths were reported, NMMC also carried out surveys in the vicinity that they lived. Blood samples of those who were found to have fever were taken but the test was found to be negative of dengue or malaria. Meanwhile, he reiterated the corporation has carried out anti-malaria and dengue spraying near 1.5 lakh residences in gaothan areas of the city, more prone to the disease.

Constructions sites and scrap havens across city have already been covered for spraying and fogging with pills supplied to labourers. NMMC has also used 6000gupy fishes for killing the breeding of mosquitoes. NMMC has appealed to residents to take measures to avoid such diseases.
