NMMC City Engineer Mohan Dagaonkar speaks out his expeience at Smart city summit at Delhi

The civic display,selected by the Union urban development, was among 18 such well-planned civic projects. The exhibition was attended by representatives of 500 cities, along with their respective mayors. The civic of commissioner, D T Waghmare and city engineer, Mohan Dagaonkar were also present.
The exhibition received around 2,000 footfalls and visitors included foreign delegates, ministers, government officials among others. “Our stormwater management system, which received the National Urban Water award in 2010, was upgraded between 2005 and 2008. It includes increasing the drainage capacity, installing pumping stations, automatic sensor pumping units under the subways to clear water-logging, flap gates system in holding ponds. The display showed how they work during high tide to prevent flood-like situation and other key operational features,” said Mohan Dagaonkar, city engineer, NMMC.
