The NMMC Commissioner visited the upcoming NMMC headquarters in CBD and the Children Park site in Nerul to get a status report. NMMC Commissioner Vijay Nahata visited the construction site of NMMC Headquarters in CBD to get a status of the project. On the site, Commissioner Vijay Nahata interacted with the engineers on the project. The estimated cost of building the new NMMC headquarters is approximately Rs 90 crores. The Commissioner informed that the building will bear an eco friendly look. The building will be of five floors along with a dome of 50 meter diameter, further enhancing the look. There would also be provision of water recycling. The commissioner further moved on to check the status of the upcoming Children Park site in Nerul. Here too the Commissioner spoke with the engineers. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 22 crores. The park is on a 25 acre land and will have a train in it for moving around. While speaking to the engineers the commissioner suggested to develop the artificial pond into a river. The park will have a train, a science center, Cycling track, some attractive sculptures, 18 rides and a lazy river along with caves and food malls. There will be a nominal cost for the same.
