Few days back, NMTV had exposed how MCGM Commissioner Dr. Jairaj Patahk was misinforming the media with regards to water supply in the city. And our report was affirmed when NMMC Commissioner Vijay Nahata completely refused to supply Morbe water to MCGM in the presence of Irrigation Minister Ajit Dada Pawar and Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik. Speaking during a press conference, MCGM Commissioner Dr. Jairaj Patahk had informed the media that to tackle the issue of water shortage in the city, the civic body would be buying 150MLD of water from NMMC’s Morbe dam. He also stated that NMMC had even given them an offer on the same and meeting was also set with Irrigation Minister Ajit Dada Pawar for January 6. But the Commissioner’s statements were proven false when in the presence of Ajit Dada Pawar, NMMC Commissioner Vijay Nahata clearly stated that there were not in favor of supplying water to any organization. The same was voiced by Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik who was present during the meet. He clearly stated that till the time the consumption of water in Navi Mumbai is not recorded and the annual development of the same is not understood, till that time supplying water to any other organization would not be possible. Now when NMMC has clearly refused to supply water to MCGM in the presence of Irrigation Minister Ajit Dada Pawar, how could MCGM Commissioner Dr, Jairaj Pathak misguide the media stating that NMMC has put forth an offer for water supply. A question that only the MCGM Commissioner can answer, but this misinformation provided by him has put a question mark on the work of the bureaucrat.
