The NMMC Fire Fighting Dept. has sent notices to government buildings that violate fire safety norms. The list includes CIDCO Bhavan reports. Government body booking government bodies for violations – ironical but true. The three months survey by NMMC Fire Fighting Dept. has revealed that 560 buildings of the 637 surveyed violate fire safety norms. The buildings violating fire safety norms include CIDCO Bhavan, Konkan Bhavan and Raigad Bhavan. NMMC Fire Fighting Chief R T Mhatre informed NMTV News that they have sent notices to the government buildings to immediately comply with the fire safety requirements in their premises. The government offices in the list have significant public and government records and flouting fire safety norms in putting these important documents and records at risk to any disaster. R T Mhatre says that this is a serious issue. BYTE Another concerning revelation of the survey is that of the 183 schools surveyed in the list 157 violate fire safety norms. While the NMMC has put many on their hit list, it is a wonder when will they book public centric places like Center One Mall and other commercial complexes that gravely violate fire safety norms that can cause grave disaster of life and property.
