NMMC has joined hands with a NGO to provide educational value to its schools. The organization named Mudha Foundation will survey the NMMC schools to get a better picture of its education system and would aim at improving the quality of education in the schools. Under the School Vision of NMMC, the corporation has takes a new step to begin its mission of coming at par with private schools in terms of quality of education for its students. The corporation has joined hands with Mudha Foundation for this. Mudha Foundation is NGO that has worked surveyed and work in quality improvement of over 4500 educational institutes. NMMC Commissioner Vijay Nahata expressed full confidence in the involvement of the Foundation to better the standards of NMMC schools. There are a total of 64 civic schools in Navi Mumbai which has a strength of around 27000 students. While the students are distributed school uniforms and books along with other items, there never has been any improvement in the quality of education being imparted to students hailing from economically poor backgrounds. Mutha Foundation’s Managing Director voiced confidence that with their procedures, they would be able to bring about a reform in the education system. NMMC Education Committee Chairman Ravi Iyer too stated that the association would Mutha will be beneficial for the municipal students. The association with the foundation would be for a period of three years and the NGO will provide its services to NMMC schools free of cost. At a time when NMMC has brought about a revolutionary change in terms of school infrastructure much still has to be done in terms of upgrading quality of education within the schools. Hopefully, the tie up with Mutha Foundation will be a step in this direction. With cameraperson Ravi Nikam, Sudhir Sharma for NMTV News.
