NMMC TO INTRODUCE AMBITIOUS SCHEME TO DETECT WATER WASTAGE BY RESIDENTS THROUGH CAMERA

nmmc-water-3With the aim of preventing wastage of water, NMMC has started a drive which will catch people red-handed using water excessively through camera lenses. Water is the most important source for survival. In an effort to reduce water shortages and take action against people using water excessively, NMMC’s Water Supply department has started a drive in which people using excessive water would be caught red-handed. Underthe drive, NMMC has appointed people across the city who would capture the people using excessive of water in their camera lenses. The department would then send notices to these people and fining them double the charge of their water bill. In the last 2 months, NMMC has caught more than 500 people using excessive water. The drive has been initially started in Vashi and would be soon implemented in area like Nerul, Airoli, Sanpada, Turbhe & also other parts of Navi Mumbai. At a time when water shortage is the biggest worry that the city residents face, steps and measures such as this drive is the need of the hour.
