In order to imbibe the habit of reading among the citizens NMMC is giving priority to libraries. And now, to modernize its libraries, the civic body is planning to implement e- library system, for which NMMC will be reserving funds in its yearly budget. Under the vision of NMMC Commissioner Vijay Nahata and keeping in mind the increasing amount of competitive examinations, a special programme has been formulated by the civic body. With a view to make its libraries modern NMMC has decided to introduce e-library system. Many students visiting the libraries aspire to appear for competitive examinations like MPSC and UPSC. This system would help them in retrieving any information without wasting time and too much effort On the grounds of Bombay and Tata Memorial hospital and other famous libraries of the state, NMMC too has decided to develop the concept of e-library, for which the civic body had sent its officers to these places to see how it works. NMMC would try to implement the system soon so that it may reserve funds in its budget especially for the project. Librarian BH Wagh, who had gone to study this system, said that students appearing for MPSC and UPSC exams require books at any time and with the help of internet one may retrieve information at any time. The system would definitely be beneficial for the students if brought in soon, which would also be helpful in improving standard of education.
