It’s an NMTV impact! Lokshaheer Annabhau Sathe garden at sector 15 Nerul has finally got a facelift. After NMTV News aired the news about the dilapidated condition of the garden, NMMC took steps to renovate it. We spoke to some of the citizens residing in the area, who were happy that the garden has been revamped and thanked us for our support. Few months back we had flashed news about the sad condition of Lokshaheer Anna Bhau Sathe garden located at sector 15 in Nerul. We showed how the plot, which was once a beautiful garden with greenery and children playing around was then converted into a place for druggists, beggars and alcoholic people. The garden had dried grass and heaps of mud. The garden was also a shelter for anti social elements and residents used to find it difficult to walk through the garden during evening and nights. Taking cognizance of our report, the dried grass, open wires and heaps of soil has now been replaced by green plants and fresh grass. NMTV News was informed about the ruined condition of the garden by the members of Navjivan Mahila Mandal of Nerul after which our team visited the place and took the issue to the concerned authorities. After several backing by our channel and with the support of the residents as well as the mandal, the NMMC eventually refurbished the garden. The place is now beautifully designed by NMMC by various kinds of plants, benches and shade for people to sit and relax. All what the residents now demand is a proper security of the garden so that no one destroys the plants or misuses the garden. The cleaning worker at the garden informed about some of the people misusing the garden. This shows that with joint perseverance by the public and media, civic issues can be brought to light compelling the concerned authorities to resolve it.
