State Energy Minister Dilip Valse Patil has announced that there will be no power cuts this summer. But may be consumers should know that this will be made possible only if you are willing to pay extra. The announcement made by Energy Minister Dilip Valse Patil of no load shedding this summer might have brought relief to all, but a visit to the local MSEDC office proved that this was too good to be true. According to the Executive Engineer Satish Karpe at MSEDC Vashi, load shedding would stop for only those areas where the residents are willing to buy electricity at a higher rate. As usual a very convenient option for the rich but it would be the common man that is going to suffer. Inflation has hit the country hard and to top it all even this basic need of life will come at a steeper price. Unfortunately the state’s decision has come in favor of the riches eluding the poor once again. With cameraperson Rajendra Prasad, Rajeev Mishra for Navi Mumbai News.
