They live a life that is beyond the imagination of any man. Shilpa Suryavanshi met up with aids patient to relate a message on the nightmare life becomes after being affected with HIV AIDS. Jyothis AIDS Community centre, located at Kalamboli serves those deserted human souls who are outcast by the society as they are HIV positive. The center here provides them with shelter. Qualified doctors visit and check up all the patients regularly. The left out men, women and children are provided with proper accommodation and food here. Sisters attend these patients with concern. These people need more care, affection and above all the understanding of the close ones to survive those killing moments. Sister of Jyotis AIDS centre said that they admit destitute patients who are left alone by society. According to sister Infanta, HIV positive patients not just have to battle the disease but have to also go through psychological problems. The doctor of the community centre gave us more information about the spread of AIDS. She said that poor, rich alike get affected by this virus and also elaborated on the HIRIS behavior. She informed that proper treatment can relieve patients to certain extent and can also increase their life span. She emphasized that it is must for everyone to get their blood tested and all should take advantage of the facilities available. Let’s make an attempt to wipe out this stigma, which strikes like a blot on the face of community who pass the unofficial death penalty against these innocents. All they need is love and care! On World Aids Day NMTV appeals to all, to wake up and lend your hand to those, who really need it. With cameraperson Kala Jadhav, Shilpa Suryawanshi for NMTV news.
