One incident of face off between NCP and the opposition was reported from Nerul’s Darave village from the ward of Corporator Saluja Sutar. When the report of the opposition pressurizing the police to take action against Saluja Sutar for no fault of hers reached Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik, he himself reached Nerul Police Station to check the case. Saluja Sutar is NCP corporator from Nerul. The incident took place a few minutes before 5 pm at Darave’s 254 polling center. According to Saluja Sutar, she was present inside the polling center at that time when a few polling officers came for inspection and asked her to leave the polling booth without verifying whether she was a polling agent or not. She added that at that moment Santosh Shetty, Namdeo Bhagat and others came to the booth and demanded the police to book Saluja Sutar for violating rules. However, when the police cross-questioned the polling agents at the booth, they confirmed that Saluja Sutar had not violated any rules. Saluja Sutar and other party workers were called at the Nerul Police Station. When the report of the opposition pressurizing the police to take action against Saluja Sutar for no fault of hers reached Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik, he himself reached Nerul Police Station to check the case. DCP D T Shinde confirmed that Ganesh Naik had come only for enquiry. According to Saluja Sutar, when the opposition started sensing that the NCP-Congress was getting a lead from her ward and they could sense defeat, they started pressurizing the police.
