OPPOSITION DEMANDS BREACH-OF-PRIVILEDGE AGAINST CHIEF MINISTER ASHOK CHAVAN AND DCM CHAGGAN BHUJBAL FOR NOT TABLING RAM PRADHAN REPORT

winter-session-3The Shiv Sena, BJP, and MNS have all proposed breach-of-privilege motions against Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Chief Secretary J P Dange, Additional Chief Secretary Chandra Iyengar, and former Union home secretary Ram Pradhan for contempt of the legislature for not tabling the Pradhan committee report in both houses. Soon after the winter session began on its second day, the opposition parties demanded a discussion on the damage caused by Cyclone Phyan and the compensation paid to people affected by it. They demanded a discussion through an adjournment motion, but the government offered to discuss the matter as part of the day’s business.
