OPPOSITION STAGE WALK OUT OVER REDEVELOPMENT OF MUNICIPAL SCHOOLS IN MCGM STANDING COMMITTEE

mcgm-standing-The Congress corporators in the MCGM Standing Committee have opposed the proposal of the redevelopment of municipal schools at a cost of Rs 70 crores. The MCGM Standing Committee saw opposition from the Congress members on the proposal that the committee approved for redevelopment of municipal schools. Congress Standing Committee Member, Sameer Desai said that for 7 zones, MCGM administration has appointed 6 contractors, taking a deposit of Rs 6 crores from each as deposit. The contractors have been awarded the contract of Rs 10 crore for the redevelopment of municipal schools. However, the Congress members questioned that why was the contract awarded when the work was to be started only in the next two years. The opposition staged a walk out in protest. Sameer Desai further alleged corruption by Shiv Sena and BJP on the approved proposal. This is what the MCGM Standing Committee chairman, Rahul Shewale had to say on the allegations.
